In this 3rd District Challenge that the Seychelles Chess Federation organise this year in Celebration of 50 years Independence , Success of the Growth of Chess in Seychelles and encourage Chess more in the Community, Mr. Timothy Kate is able to prevent 1st and 2nd District Challenge Winner Candidate Master (CM) Ragul Pillay from doing a hat trick in this tournament.
 The Tournament started with a Lovely opening ceremony from Mont Buxton District Administrator (D.A) Fatima by welcoming the chess players in their district and doing the 1st opening match of the Tournament see 2x pics below.
 Kate won his 1st Two rounds easily against newcomers Naidu and Young Russian Giant Alexander Sitkin whose also been leading in National Seychelles Chess Federation tournaments. In Round 3 Kate had to face one of Seychelles CM Ragul Pillay where the battle wasn’t easy, however Kate was able to find a hole in Pillay’s defence and scoring the main point, hance leading him to victory in the Tournament.

2nd place for the tournament is Mr. Ragul Pillay with a total of Four points and a Tie-Break of 16 followed by Alexander Sitkin 3rd place with 4 points also however a Tie-Break of 14.

4th Place winner is 10 Years old Akhurath Agastya Kempanahalli Manseh Kumar 3 points and a TB-16

5th place winner of the Tournament goes to young promising Seychellois player Sebastien Gobin with a total of 3 points and a TB of 15Â

 Fifth place winner is also another promising Seychellois Chessler Christiano Renaud with also 3 points in total and a TB of 15.

 In the 1st place for Girls is Young comer Ms. Chaya Aglae from Port Launey with a total of 1 point and a TB of 11 ahead of 2 other boys on the Final standings table

 Claiming a total of 3 points and a TB of 12 Rachelle Hoareau won the 1st Place for the Women CategoryÂ
